Sensata Technologies, Inc. New Product Development Quality Manager in Aguascalientes, Mexico

The New Product Development (NPD) Quality Manager will manage NPD QEs assigned to a regional team. This role will oversee daily team activities to ensure compliance with all NPD process, procedures and QMS requirements.

This role must have APQP / Launch experience. Team lead experience is a plus. This role will provide guidance to team members on all levels of APQP Project management.

The NPD Team Leader will drive team consistency and Quality excellence on all Quality aspects of new product development, by providing hands-on NPD QE support, mentoring, training, communication with customers, the Sensata development team (Design, Process, Program Management, etc.), and the Sensata Manufacturing team.

The goal of the NPD Team Lead is to achieve flawless execution of product development. A successful NPD Team Leader possesses the following strengths: strong leadership, very pro-active, results oriented, strong follow-through, time management, the ability to influence others, a strong technical understanding of Sensata’s products, a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and the motivation and ability to independently reach across geographical and cultural boundaries to solve problems.

General Responsibilities

  • Manages the sharing and implementation of best practices across all business units

  • Responsible for the activities of the Quality Management System

  • Responsible for time management and operational support

  • Manages and produces Quality Assurance measures and metrics which report any trends or process improvement opportunities for each project

  • Manages the training and other required activities for the department

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

  • Manage NPD QE team members within assigned regional teams

  • Coordinate project assignments with NPD Global Quality Manager

  • Provide weekly project status updates to Global Quality Manager

  • Support NPD customer visits and assessments with NPD QE team

  • 1st level point of contact for Program management request or escalation

  • Ensure NPD Lessons Learned process is fully utilized by the NPD QE team
