Boehringer Ingelheim Regional Patient Journey Manager in Amsterdam, Netherlands

THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Regional Patient Journey Manager, you will develop and lead the medical strategy across MIDI for generalized pustular psoriasis(GPP)/ neutrophilic dermatoses, to set the right medical priorities for the region (MIDI) & to implement structural processes with the right multi-disciplinary approach to drive success.

Furthermore, you will partner and work cross-functionally within MIDI, across Operating Units (OPUs) and with the global team(s) for all relevant products in the therapeutic area. You will be responsible for execution of plans, EE management and development of CoEs in OPUs without a dedicated Patient Journey Manager.

This role is based in our office in Amsterdam , in the new EDGE Amsterdam West (https://edge.tech/developments/edge-amsterdam-west) , a building with a modern and very sustainable architecture. You will report directly to the Medical Affairs Team Leader MIDI (ILD & Specialty Care). This role requires frequent travelling and frequent interfacing with external stakeholders.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, lead, coordinate & execute the overall regional (MIDI) medical strategy for the Therapeutic Area annual strategic and operational brand plan (ICP).

  • Lead, initiate and manage medical/clinical/scientific/digital activities in support of the MIDI TA strategy.

  • Provide functional leadership to OPU counterparts – support, training and steering towards metrics/KPIs.

  • Ensure projects and activities are executed as planned, within budget and in compliance with applicable regulations and SOPs.

  • Identify gaps/opportunities and drive of healthcare solutions, implementation of successful CoE and patient finding initiatives for GPP across the region.

  • Responsible for Therapeutic Area medical budget and roadmap.

  • Serve as an internal medical and scientific expert for product and disease-related content for all relevant MIDI functions, including Marketing, Market Access, Medicine Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety and Clinical Operations.

  • Keep track of the latest insights within the GPP/ neutrophilic dermatoses therapeutic area (literature, congresses) and inform relevant stakeholders accordingly.

  • Partner for guideline creation & patient organizations.

  • Collaborate to optimize patient journeys, improve diagnoses & patient advocacy.

  • Cooperate cross-functionally to enhance local strategic decision-making, planning & execution.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • You have a master’s degree, PhD in Medicine, Pharmacology, Life Sciences, Chemistry or similar.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience in inflammation/dermatology (e.g. MD, scientists including key scientific publications) and launch experience is highly preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an in-field medical position desired.

  • Knowledge of clinical trial design and process.

  • Knowledge of European Healthcare systems (preferably across the MIDI region).

  • Business acumen and experience in navigating in rare disease therapy area with innovative ways of working & solutions.

  • Strong passion and capability to create value and impact in the Therapeutic Area ecosystems with Patient and Customer centric attitude.

  • Strong social skills and the ability to understand the emotional component of diseases.

  • Scientific mindset & strong project management skills.

  • Excellent command of the English language.

  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.

  • Experience working in cross-border teams and / or in an international environment.

  • Ability to effectively build & manage relationships with different stakeholders internally & externally.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally.
