Duties and Responsibilities: The Design Unit Lead will be responsible for all aspects of the firm's design group. Project types include schematic, PS E, drainage, transit, and traffic-related design projects. The Unit Lead will ensure high morale, consistent quality of deliverables, customer satisfaction, and strong financial performance. The role is responsible for meeting the Unit's goals and performance metrics, executing successful business development efforts, leading large and/or complex projects, sourcing, attracting and selecting talent, and effectively developing and mentoring staff. Position could be located in Austin or Houston Preferred experience would include: Project management of multi-disciplined highway projects (TXDOT preferred) Proposal preparation Client negotiations Team leadership Required Qualifications: BS in Engineering and TX PE licensure. 15 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design and Project Management. Experience using Microstation and GeoPak or other transportation design software packages. Desired Qualifications: Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Demonstrated leadership skills.
