Job Summary

The Print software Platform Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing activities for the Print Data platform specifically around the Data lifecycle, Data Requirements & Definition, Data Quality, Data Storage and Retention keeping in mind availability, performance, privacy, security & cost. In addition the Data Engineer will be responsible for supporting customer facing HP Product and solutions and their vast number of use cases. The Data Engineer makes data-driven decision and collaborates with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Architects, Product Managers to drive the data as a differentiator to Print/HP.

Responsibilities

  • Data Engineering knowledge with ETL platforms understanding.

Understanding of Print Data Formats would be an added advantage

Strong technical knowledge of software platform systems, including enterprise, middleware, firmware, and embedded systems.

Adept at collecting and analyzing input from multiple sources (internal customers, product managers, engineering, architecture, and management).

  • Partners with data engineering teams across multiple business lines to build data pipelines, improve data assets, quality, metrics, and insights.

  • Creates visualizations and other forms of communication that effectively showcase insights and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Leads a project team of data science professionals and provides guidance, training and mentoring to less experienced staff members.

  • Collaborates and communicates with project team regarding project progress and issue resolution.

  • Represents the data science team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.

  • Identifies and recommends improvement upon existing methodologies by developing new data sources, testing model assumptions, and fine-tuning model parameters.

  • Maintains proficiency within the data science domain by keeping up with technology and trend shifts.

Lead on the design for Data, focusing on scalability, performance, availability, cost and Data Quality.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Typically has 6-10 years of work experience, preferably in data engineering or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.

Preferred Certifications

  • Programming Language/s Certification (SQL, Python, or similar)

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge in DataBricks

Strong in PySpark and Python

Strong in SQL/MySQL, Relational data modelling

Strong Notebooks environment experience (Jupyter, DataBricks)

Fluent in complex, distributed and massively parallel cloud systems (AWS, GCP, AZURE)

Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Jenkins)

Basics of AWS/Azure technologies

Proficient in using Git & Tera Forms

Experience collecting requirements from Partners and choosing the right technologies to meet end to end data flow requirements that are required.
