Job Overview The Manager, Data Engineering supervises a team of data engineers who are responsible for analysis, design and development of data products and our overall lakehouse platform. The Manager, Data Engineering builds data expertise and owns the quality for the pipelines the team builds. Job Responsibilities: Manage a team of data engineers. Design, build and launch new data products that support business solutions. Craft and develop new systems and tools to enable faster data consumption. Design, build and launch very efficient and reliable data pipelines to move data. Work across multiple teams in high transparency roles and own the solution end-to-end. Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and product analysts to understand data needs. Design and implement frameworks for auditing, error logging and master data management for the team's pipelines. Collaborate on analysis, architecture, design, and development of data warehouse and business analytics solutions. Design and enforce appropriate agile and SDLC process. Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed. Education: Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or in a computer programming related field. (Required) Work Experience: 5 years experience designing and building self-service analytics and big data solutions using cloud technologies (i.e. Databricks, ADLS, ADF, Redshift, Glue, S3 etc.) (Required) 2-4 years Experience in managing or supervising a team of senior engineers. (Required) Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methods. (Required) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to manage global projects or programs including work prioritization, planning, and coordination. Ability to work cross-functionally, building and maintaining trust with internal stakeholders. Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams. Passionate about learning new technologies. Licenses and Certifications: Cloud platform certification(s) (AWS, Azure or equivalent) * At least 18 years of age * Legally authorized to work in the United States Travel: Travel Required (Yes/No):Yes DOT Regulated: DOT Regulated Position (Yes/No):No Safety Sensitive Position (Yes/No):No Washington Pay Range : $177,500.00 - $240,200.00 The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
