Surface Transportation org is expanding and introducing new capabilities to our Fleet Management business that supports all Middle Mile assets (tractors, trailers, box trucks, hostlers). In this role you will deliver world class solutions while wearing many hats and working in a highly collaborative environment that is more startup than big company. This role will require strong leadership skills and interaction/influence with teams across Amazon to drive the development of our maintenance business.

This Product Manager will be responsible for defining the vision, roadmap and driving program execution of predictive maintenance for our powered assets (tractors and hostlers). This role will generate detailed business requirements and develop use cases for internal stakeholders, while acting as the single threaded leader for powered predictive maintenance. Product development will be completed in partnership with internal tech teams.

The role involves day to day interaction with senior Amazon leaders as internal customers, understanding their needs and converting them into efficient business models. The role requires regular interactions with multiple teams and jointly working with them to meet both short term and long term business needs. This position is a multi-faceted role requiring the ability to balance strategy and execution.

Key job responsibilities

This Product Manager will build and execute on the vision and strategy to use technology, sensors, data analysis, and predictive analytics to anticipate when maintenance is required for power units, such as day cabs, sleeper cabs, reefer, and hostlers. As part of this, they will partner with the tech team and external vendors to build the foundational data pipelines, analyze the data, and build the AI models to gather the business insights with the goals of safety, compliance, increasing uptime, and reducing maintenance costs. A successful candidate will have exceptional verbal and written skills with the ability to work across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. In order to achieve business goals, it will be required to evaluate short term solutions against long a term vision to strike a balance between bias for action and think big. A successful candidate will have the ability to work in a highly ambiguous state and create order where it may be lacking.

• Source, define, build and manage the Fleet Management business.

• Define a vision for how this program will work and cost.

• Write whitepapers to gain initial buy-in and alignment as well as provide status updates as the project completes critical milestones and time intervals.

• Identify key performance metrics and create a reporting suite that allows for program management when the program is fully scaled.

• Define short-term, mid-term, and long-term timelines and project phases.

• Define business requirements and use cases

• Own the vision and strategy for power unit predictive maintenance

• Lead pilot projects and other initiatives to drive improvements in cost, uptime, safety, and compliance

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • Experience in areas such as market research, statistics, finance or qualitative/quantitative research

  • Experience in delivering end-to-end customer research studies, including study design, fieldwork (qualitative research moderation and survey execution), analysis, recommendations, reporting and presentation of results to senior leadership

  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Master's degree or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $110,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
