Amazon Sr. Software Dev Engineer, Mobile Device Management in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Are you interested in building innovative services with global reach? Does impacting how mobile software is developed and deployed to manage hundreds of thousands of mobile devices sound like fun? We are looking for a talented Senior Software Development Engineer to join us in our mission to build end-user solutions and create developer tools for the industrial Android devices deployed globally across Amazon's fulfillment and transportation network.

In this role, you'll lead the design, build, and delivery of solutions like Android enterprise device access/security services and a new hardware-based, CI/CD integrated Android app testing tool used daily by development teams across Amazon. You'll directly influence the construction and feature development of mobile device management services, device telemetry and data services, and even how one million-plus Amazon associates deliver shipments to millions of retail customers every day.

To be successful, you find tackling highly ambiguous problems without a predefined path exciting, thriving on the need to design non-obvious, elegant solutions. You are customer obsessed and enjoy helping your team members to grow and achieve outstanding results in a creative and collaborative atmosphere. You are passionate about creating maintainable, high quality software with a history of outstanding customer results. You deeply understand the challenges of building large-scale production software systems architected for operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization and sustainability.

Key job responsibilities

Scope and Influence - You lead projects that require the work of multiple engineers, own product architecture, and provide system-wide view and design guidance. You also drive adoption of engineering best practices on your team.

Problem Complexity - You work on problems with multiple risks and roadblocks using solutions that are as simple as possible, both directly and through others on your team.

Execution - You effectively communicate technical designs and decisions in writing. You work efficiently to routinely deliver the right things with high autonomy, setting a culture of robust software development. You make existing systems and solutions simpler.

Impact - Your work prioritizes long-term results including software quality, business requirements, customer experience, and maintainability of both your team’s and related team's product(s). You deliver solutions at a global scale and drive root cause analysis to solve complex system problems.
