This position is expected to run from Fall 2024 through Spring 2026 and will be a part of large cohort of new faculty joining the Bellevue College community.

 

The Bellevue College Theater Arts program is seeking qualified candidates for a temporary full-time position of Theater Arts Faculty/Technical Director for the 2024-2026 academic years. The successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to student success through teaching and learning excellence, will be responsible for designing sets and lights for productions, teach Theatre Arts classes, including Lighting and Scenic Technology, and mentor and instruct students in design, technical, and stage management. This faculty member will operate and maintain the technical assets of the theatre, including scenic construction, sound, lighting, projection, and the overall maintenance and operations of stage facilities in Stop Gap Studio Theatre, the Shop, and all storage areas. In addition, full time faculty are expected to advise students, assist in curriculum development, participate in college governance and initiatives, and maintain currency in their discipline.

 

Faculty are under the general direction of the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and are responsible primarily to the Dean of the Arts and Humanities Division. Full-time faculty teach in face-to-face settings and synchronous and asynchronous virtual settings, and are expected to deliver in-person classes or a combination of in-person and virtual classes.

 

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule

 

Position Salary Range: $77,250.30/year - $108,344.14/year

 

Annual salary is based on a 176-day contract with a minimum of $77,250.30; beginning salary will be determined by the assessment of the candidate's education and related experience. New hires start no higher than $82,831.36 unless exceptional circumstances prevail. Certain positions may also be eligible for assignment/project-based additional compensation, including a High Demand Stipend up to $8,350 annually, prorated based on the discipline and duration of the assignment. All additional compensations are subject to change depending on funding and negotiated agreement.
