What You Will Do :

Guidehouse is seeking a Strategic Communications and Training Specialist to join our Defense and Security Segment, where they will support the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC). CPSC is an independent government agency, working to achieve recognition as a global leader in consumer product safety. The agency is responsible for issuing and enforcing mandatory standards and developing voluntary standard standards for Trade Industry, educating consumers and trade industry, and recalling unsafe products. The Strategic Communications and Training Specialist will be responsible for providing day-to-day support and developing key deliverables for a pilot program that supports the agency mission.

  • Develop, lead, execute, and maintain a robust communications management plan needed for internal and external stakeholders to advance government modernization initiatives.

  • Lead development of professional briefings that include informative and aesthetically pleasing graphics to be received by government executives and leadership

  • Help inform decision-making through development of executive briefing presentations, talking points, and strategic communications/ work products such as newsletters, infographics, and other related marketing materials and graphics that promote program awareness and updates.

  • Generate innovative communication strategies to increase CPSC's eFiling pilot buy-in, participation, and engagement from the trade industry.

  • Develop and recommend training strategies and methods that are best suited for an organization, program, or project based on the operational environment.

  • Conduct in-person or virtual seminars, workshops, individual training sessions, etc.

  • Lead design and deliver training materials and content including presentations, job manuals and job aids, and other material to ensure trainees effectively learn the material.

  • Implement and facilitate new media or new training methodologies as they become available.

  • Facilitate training evaluation and identify areas for future training development and programmatic improvements.

  • Develop and execute project tasks/deliverables and support the Project Manager in finalizing project tasks/deliverables.

  • Organize client meetings, including scheduling meetings; drafting and delivering agendas, meeting presentations and meeting minutes; providing and archiving required documentation; and documenting, tracking and following-up on action items.

  • Support multiple, concurrent tasks, while ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to standards, and timely delivery of all products.

What You Will Need :

  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust

  • Bachelors degree

  • 5 (FIVE) years minimum of professional, full time experience​

  • Experience in planning and executing strategic communications

  • Experience in designing, developing, and executing training

  • Excellent PowerPoint development skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Critical and strategic thinking to solve problems and develop innovative solutions address the client’s challenges

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-based work environment

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and quick turn deliverables

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to adapt quickly and develop successful professional relationships with the Guidehouse team, the customer, and their stakeholders (both internal and external)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially MS PowerPoint, and MS Word

What Would Be Nice To Have :

  • Proficiency in MS SharePoint

  • Management consulting experience for the federal government
