Move, maintain, troubleshoot, automate, and document hardware or software for devices in the labs and support infrastructure as well as provide administration and development support for internally hosted applications; Configure, document and maintain lab equipment, 3rd party software (SW), and network infrastructure for the support lab; Responsible for local and remote labs used by teams for Engineering, Proof of Concept, Demo, and Solutions Supporting Research & Development (R&D), Marketing and Sales Engineers; Rack/un-rack/move servers, switches, disk and other devices; Create scripts to optimize and automate the configuration and usability; Work with automation software or write scripts to create or replicate testbed environments; Troubleshoot lab network outages and problems; Document procedures for and maintaining all equipment in the support lab; Schedule and install maintenance and upgrades as needed; Work directly with other Engineers to implement patching of fiber and copper cables; Responsible for basic configuration of Internet Protocol (IP) Switches and Routers; Configure Kernel-based Virtual Machines (KVMs), and Terminal Servers; Install, configure, and troubleshoot various Windows and Linux distributions as well virtualization servers; Up to 30% travel to various unanticipated locations.
