About the team

eBay Classifieds Group is shaping the future of local commerce by bringing people together through an enriched online experience that allows them to reach out to the community around them. We are comprised of more than 1,000 people who are passionate for local trade and maintaining the customer-centric nature of the Group, while exploring growth opportunities in both the countries where eBay Classifieds Group already has a presence and in prospective markets.

We launched a long lasting wish of many retailers in 2017. Under the brand name Admarkt we introduced a cpc based listing model, enabling retailers (online & offline) to push their inventory (automated) to our platform. This opened the door to for them to benefit from our huge reach in Belgium. At the moment more than 1.500 professional sellers do get leads from 2dehands.be via Admarkt.

The Key Account Manager Retail will hunt for the top retailers in Belgium and establish long lasting relationships with them. This is a great opportunity to build and manage key external relationships and have direct impact on the growth of 2dehands.be, 2ememain.be and the B2C sellers business.

In this role:

  • You build and manage long-term relationships with (online) retailers;

  • You understand our competitive environment in Belgium and the challenges of retailers;

  • You will have a jump start for growth in Belgium by leveraging all learnings from the experienced Dutch Admarkt team;

  • You will design and implement a strategic account plan to detect and implement business opportunities and investigate new opportunities;

  • You will identify cross sell opportunities with the Dutch Admarkt and our Belgian team

To be successful you will frequently travel (70%), mainly in Belgium but sometimes also in France and The Netherlands. When you are not travelling you are stationed in our Brussels office. Visit the Marktplaats office in the Netherlands twice a month.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the fields of online sales and have a proven track record in (online) sales and marketing

  • Strong consultative sales skills, analytical, service oriented

  • Aware of the business trends in our industry

  • Experience with the Belgian style of doing business up to director level

  • Driven, a self-starter, problem solver and a real teamplayer

  • BA/BS degree

  • Excellent French, Dutch and English language skills
