Minimum/Required Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited institution Demonstrated experience working with people who have diverse backgrounds, cultures, and languages Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal forms for individuals, small and large groups, and have the ability to provide workshops and/or trainings Outstanding demonstrated oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in front of small and large groups Strong interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty and administrators One year (1) of professional experience in academic advising, admissions counseling, academic support programs or a combination of those areas with another student contact area Demonstrated computer skills including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, databases, and presentation software Demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing inclusiveness, collaboration and diversity. Position Duties 50%- Direct advising engineering students (undergraduate) Understanding the various needs and backgrounds of all students the Head Advisor monitors the academic progress of MIME students. 30%- Coordination of MIME advising program Implements, oversees, and assesses the development of MIME advising initiatives to expand and improve advising services through a variety of delivery methods. 10%- Lead Work/Supervisory Provides supervision of five to six academic advisors to develop and support a diverse, cohesive, mutually accountable, and high performing advising team. 10%- Collaboration Collaborates with School, College, and campus to focus on advising or student service programs and support for all students.
