AECOM is actively seeking a Strategic Facility Planner to join the U.S. West Digital Consulting team. This position is to be based in Dallas, TX. The Strategic Facility Planner plays a pivotal role in facilitating collaboration between stakeholders and community representatives to obtain holistic solutions for facility management and investment. With a focus on fostering sustainability, community impact, and accessibility, they coordinate, organize, and leverage the results of our team’s facility condition assessments in concert with information gained from client and stakeholder workshops to develop strategic facility plans. This position serves as a bridge between various stakeholders, ensuring that assessment data informs decision-making processes and drives strategic initiatives.

By emphasizing collaboration with both stakeholders and community representatives, the Strategic Facility Planner ensures that diverse perspectives are considered in developing comprehensive solutions. This approach allows for a holistic understanding of facility needs and challenges, leading to informed decision-making that benefits both the organization, building tenants, and the community at large. Through effective collaboration, the Strategic Facility Planner enables stakeholders to work together towards shared goals, resulting in sustainable, inclusive, and impactful facility management solutions.

We are seeking an ideal candidate who demonstrates a strong ability to create engaging content, conduct client workshops, facilitate the prioritization of needs, and comfortably engage with large groups. The successful candidate will exhibit a proactive approach to learning new skills and methods, particularly in challenging field and office settings. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving as a technical specialist for the department in the application of strategic facilities planning.

  • Holding full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating complex assignments.

  • Demonstrating the ability to manage staff, tasks, and/or projects effectively.

  • Overseeing client relationships, conducting research, and developing an understanding of local markets.

  • Performing or overseeing technical studies and the preparation of deliverables.

  • Facilitating public and agency outreach efforts.

  • Working closely with subcontractors to ensure coordination and collaboration.

  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of technical specialists and managing their project-delivery efforts.

  • Assisting with proposals and business development activities.

  • Providing oversight and guidance to junior staff members.

  • Engaging in peer collaboration by reviewing their work and actively participating in post-project reviews.

  • Coordinating dashboard content and heavy usage of Microsoft Office products for data analysis and presentation purposes.

  • Working under direct supervision, following instructions and established practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS + 6 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

  • US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors preferred in Urban Design, Urban Planning, City Planning, City and Regional Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, or related fields.

  • Masters preferred in Urban Design, Urban Planning, City Planning, City and Regional Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, or related fields.

  • Demonstrated technical writing and communication skills.

  • Experience in project management.

  • Technical background and expertise in facilities planning.

  • Experience with K-12 clientele, higher education, Federal Government, state and local government, or similar is preferred.

  • Previous relevant work experience coordinating workshops, manipulating facility information, performing strategic planning, or related tasks.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

  • Self-Starter: Demonstrates a high level of initiative and motivation, able to take ownership of tasks and projects independently, while consistently delivering exceptional results.

  • Team Player: Collaborative by nature, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and a willingness to actively contribute to team goals and objectives.

  • Proactive: Exhibits a forward-thinking mindset, anticipating needs and challenges, and taking proactive steps to address them efficiently.

  • Ability to pass criminal, drug, and background checks to work on Federal grounds, military installations, and school grounds.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to travel to project locations including driving, flying, and overnight stays. Travel is anticipated to encompass up to 30% of time.

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, and experience. The salary range for this position is

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $87,500.00 - $129,900.00.
