Meijer is seeking a skilled and proactive Site Reliability Engineer to enhance and secure the operational stability of our Store Team Member Experience (STME) technology stack. This critical role involves close collaboration with business product owners, developers, and quality engineers to ensure the high availability and performance of hundreds of applications used daily by over 70,000 team members.

As a key member of the STME teams, you will apply SRE principles to promote a culture of automation and monitoring. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the implementation of robust monitoring systems, ensuring system reliability, and automating processes to facilitate continuous improvement and stability. You will also assist incident management processes and lead post-incident reviews to mitigate future risks, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Build and manage on-prem and Azure cloud infrastructure.

  • Develop and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment solutions.

  • Troubleshoot and aid resolution of production incidents.

  • Setup monitoring and alerting solutions to monitor our applications in production.

  • Performs unit tests, monitors results, and takes required corrective actions as needed.

  • Recommends optimizations to applications and interfaces to meet SLA/functional requirements.

  • Assists in the production support and maintenance of applications as needed.

  • Works within the ITIL framework.

  • Coordinates feasibility studies/proofs of concept to evaluate solutions.

  • Actively participates in all team Agile ceremonies.

  • Partners with ITS Security and Infrastructure teams to ensure cloud-based systems and programs are secure.

What You bring with you:

  • Extensive experience in designing, developing, and debugging C# applications using the .Net Framework.

  • In depth knowledge of Azure Services, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, etc.

  • Strong understanding of on-premise infrastructure, including networking, servers, storage and virtualization technologies

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automating routine tasks.

  • Experience with Agile Methodologies Such as Scrum or Kanaban

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience and technical training is required.

  • Any SAFe certification or training or experience on Agile teams is preferred.

  • ITIL Foundations Certification or training helpful.

  • Minimum 6+ years of experience as a software engineer developing, building, testing, and deploying software.

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience on design, development, and deployment of API’s (REST)

  • Experienced in working with monitoring tools like Application Insights / Dynatrace / Splunk / NewRelic / AppDynamics

  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.
