This role is a member of the Contract Center of Excellence team within the Supply Management Solutions team of Medtronic’s Global Supply Management Group. It reports to the Sr. Manager, Supply Management Solutions and will be exposed to a wide variety of contracting activities for many commodities and services supporting Medtronic strategic purchasing.

A Day in the Life

  • Provides contract management support to assigned categories within Supply Management; includes drafting contracts on standard templates, reviewing supplier red-lines with legal team to ensure they meet guidelines, routing final contracts for signatures and ensuring contracts are correctly archived in the Ariba Contract Management System.

  • Communicates status of contract requests with internal stakeholders and works to meet business objectives and timelines with a service mindset.

  • Mitigates risk, leverages technology and purchase power, improves processes and systems, and reduces overall cost of ownership and acquisition.

  • SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: Typically, an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results.May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower-level professionals.The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects – from design to implementation - while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education

  • Leadership and Talent Management: May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and / or employee in Support or Category Management Career Streams.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience

  • Experience with Ariba Contracts or anotherERP contracting platform preferred.

  • Experience with strategic sourcing and contracting, supplier relationship management or other SAP Ariba applications are all a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Outstanding attention to detail

  • Experience working with briefing and workflow management tools such as Workfront

  • Customer focused with exceptional follow through and accountability

  • Good organisation and time management skills, including working independently and unsupervised, able to prioritise and handle multiple tasks
