DAI Sustainable Business Group (SBG) is a specialised unit within DAI that develops unique products and consulting services to help clients operate more sustainably and responsibly. We work with both the public and private sector across a wide range of geographies where we offer a range of advisory and implementation services ranging from helping private and public corporations manage, re-organise and develop their local and global supply chains in a manner that drives commercial success while promoting social and environmental sustainability and economic development, to SME development, entrepreneurship and innovation, corporate social investments and strategy/policy development. There are full-time, professional positions that will contribute to DAI’s Sustainable Business Group (SBG).

These exciting roles sit within SBG’s newly formed growth and strategy team and are based in the London, UK office with an opportunity for overseas travel. The Growth and Strategy Senior Associates, will primarily be responsible for supporting delivery on SBG’s commercial strategy, driving new business lead generation, future product and capability development, working closely with SBG’s Communications Lead, technical project teams and finance and operations team to ideate and launch regular innovative thought leadership and marketing activities, support on proposals including pricing and ensure proactive client relationship management for strategic accounts. Other day-to-day activities would include background research and market analysis, inputs for client presentations and performance reporting.

New Business Development (85%)

· Drive lead generation activities from identifying market opportunities and supporting marketing activities and attending conferences/events for market awareness and networking to preparing suite of sales collateral e.g. client introduction pitch decks and specific follow up decks and leading introduction calls with interested leads to qualify opportunities.

· Perform rigorous market scanning to stay abreast with SBG’s target market trends and disseminate findings across the broader team.

· Develop a deep understanding of our capabilities to deliver regular quantitative analysis and identify areas of opportunities/gaps in our datasets.

· Develop growth plans for strategic accounts including both lead generation and targeted marketing activities working closely with leadership and technical project teams to support the delivery of SBG’s commercial strategy and financial objectives.

· Act as a strategic advisor to leadership and technical project teams shaping successful go to market winning recommendations and content e.g. equipping internal stakeholders with market research, data analysis and sales and marketing collateral as well as capturing and sharing learnings, thus improving overall outcomes of business development and marketing efforts.

· Build and own a network of executive external advisers to support with lead generation and strategy development.

· Contribute to thought leadership creation and communication activities (internal and external).

· Use DAI group resources to conduct regular market intelligence research on clients, industries and technical areas, and generate synthesized reports for business development efforts.

· Provide coordination, pricing and administrative support to new business efforts, including preparation of proposal content, and analysis of data and documents partnering with the allocated proposal team.

· Support recruitment efforts for projects and bids and maintain communication with current and potential project staff/consultants.

· Support onboarding of proposal resources (e.g. contracting of subcontractors and external experts).

Knowledge Management and BD Performance Reporting (15%)

· Support cross-company knowledge management initiatives for business development.

· Facilitate information sharing within the Business Unit, and across DAI corporate and project offices, and external partners.

· Support the development of knowledge management and marketing products, such as past performance and technical qualifications, project write-ups and general templates.

· Update and monitor inputs to the client relationship management platform (CRM) and other databases and repositories (as requested)

· Extract and analyse SBG’s new business data and results for weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting.

· Proactively contribute to the improvement of SBG’s BD processes and tools

· Support the management of SBG’s business development resources by ensuring information is updated, relevant, and easily accessible.

Essential

  • A relevant degree, plus proven related prior work experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

  • Demonstrated experience in business development and sales.

  • Demonstrated experience in the Energy and natural resources sector.

  • Some experience and/or strong interest in responsible sourcing, supply chain, supplier development, ESG, circular economy or corporate sustainability issues

  • Academic or applied experience in qualitative and quantitative research.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible, and team-focused work environment.

  • Advanced working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • Day-to-day working experience or strong familiarity with using Microsoft Dynamics sales and marketing pilots and ZoomInfo.

  • Ability to travel to all countries where DAI implements its projects, barring times when DAI Global security has deemed travel unsafe.

Authorized to work in the United Kingdom without need for sponsorship.

Desirable

· Experience or moderate to strong understanding of marketing.

· Experience or familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal.

· Language fluency/business proficient communication in a second language such as Arabic, Spanish, French, Italian or Portuguese.

· Analytical or procurement experience within a large corporation in areas such as pricing or cost estimation or responsible sourcing.

· Experience in a technical field, such as private sector/enterprise development, economic growth, quantitative and qualitative analysis, value chain/supply chain, and/or the energy or resource industries.
