Union County Engineer Maintenance Worker 2

DESCRIPTION

The Union County Engineer is now hiring a full-time Maintenance Worker 2 to work in the Engineer Operations Division. Under general supervision, the Maintenance Worker 2 operates various motorized vehicles utilized in construction and maintenance; performs duties of Maintenance Worker 1; performs unskilled and semiskilled labor in the construction and repair of roads, ditches, culverts, bridges, guardrails, etc.; performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities; performs other related duties as required.   If you meet the requirements below and would like to join our  Engineer Operations Team, we invite you to apply for consideration!

QUALIFICATIONS

An example of acceptable qualifications: Completion of secondary education or equivalent; one (1) year experience operating construction equipment; ability to interpret maps and street signs, understand general instructions, and perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time in adverse weather conditions; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team. Attention to safety is a must. Candidates must be capable of passing a comprehensive pre-employment background investigation.   LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Ohio Class A CDL driver's license, tanker endorsement optional and maintain insurability under the County's vehicle insurance policy. CDL holders are preferred. Candidates who meet all other qualifications but who do not have a Class A CDL are still encouraged to apply.
