Haugland Group PAYROLL MANAGER in Melville, New York

KEY FUNCTIONS

Analyze, prepare, and input data to process in-house weekly union and non-union payroll for 1000+ employees. Enter and update union benefit information for new and existing employees. Verify weekend time coding, dependent upon union rules. Confirm accuracy of input data for Labor (Union, Class, ST vs. OT, Hours etc.). Assure accurate and timely running of union payroll. Evaluate for state tax compliance. Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports via ADP. Assist and work with Project Manager to help resolve contract issues. Review, evaluate, execute and document contracts for subcontractors. Create, document and maintain purchase orders of goods and/or services in accordance with the contract. Update & maintain company/agency ERP system with all current project information in the appropriate programs: Change Orders, Purchase Orders, Subcontract Ledger, Progress Entry, Project Submittals, Job Cost. Onboard new State agencies. Other duties as assigned.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years of experience with in-house payroll processing for a multi-state employer. MUST have in-house experience processing union payroll. Experience overseeing a support staff of payroll administrators. Knowledge of ADP. Knowledge of State and Federal wage, tax laws and overtime requirements. Extensive computer experience is necessary. Experience with Viewpoint a plus. Ability to work within a customer-oriented environment, and provide quality service in a confidential work environment. Participates productively as a contributing member in a team environment. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and standard computer applications. Bachelors degree in business or a related field preferred. Effective communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills, and a strong work ethic. Ability to identify problems; determine accuracy and relevance of information; use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations.
