On the Azure Resource Manager team, our mission is to help customers seamlessly, securely, and sustainably manage their resources in Azure. Azure Resource Manager is the global distributed API service that provides a consistent, programmatic experience for customers to manage all resources (compute, storage, networking, SQL, etc.) in Azure. It is a high-scale platform processing billions of requests daily. All experiences in Azure (Portal, command line, software development kits (SDKs), etc.) build on top of Azure Resource Manager, and our vision is to enable any customer (large to small) to organize, govern, secure, manage, and explore their environments at-scale.

We are looking for Product Manager II to help us chart a course for a new set of resource providers to power Azure’s infrastructure. As a Product Manager II in Azure Resource Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse set of customers and technologies and to directly influence the design of foundational building blocks for Azure’s underlying infrastructure. Your work will directly influence the efficiency and scalability of services used by millions worldwide. You will gather requirements, validate with customers, and support the team in modeling how services communicate with the platform. This opportunity will allow you to collaborate with multiple partner teams across functions and levels during various stages of the product lifecycle, to develop deep technical skills, to build data analysis and monitoring acumen, and to receive mentorship from an experienced and diverse product team.

Responsibilities

  • Partner across disciplines, levels, and functional areas, including Software Engineering, Product Management, Program Management, and UX Design/Research teams, to identify investment opportunities and garner support for that group of features.

  • Focus on customer scenarios, seeking to understand customer pain points and building end-to-end experiences that offer a compelling value-proposition across various clients (UI, command line, infrastructure as code, etc.). This includes managing customer communities and building trust with targeted customers internally or externally as needed.

  • Execute with a growth mindset, prioritizing learning and improving.

  • Think holistically and strategically, using an understanding of the engineering rhythm to help the team operate at a high level with knowledge shared appropriately and decisions made at the right level.

  • Conduct insightful, multi-faceted conversations with both technical and non-technical decision makers, conceptualizing complex ideas quickly and conveying them to others in a clear, effective, and motivating manner.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 1+ years of experience shipping enterprise-quality products and managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 4+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ years of experience designing APIs or working with the Swagger tool suite.

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
