Saf-Holland, Inc. Lead Electrical Engineer in Muskegon, Michigan

Summary of Duties: Leads advanced research, development, proof of concept, and testing of electrical/electronic  components, products and systems including, but not limited to, electronics, sensors, materials, product design and the application of advanced/new technologies. Applies in-depth knowledge of automotive electrical systems to the completion of complex assignments and serves as a technical resource, providing electrical and electronic expertise to innovation and design teams. Work with global and regional innovation and engineering teams, product management and customers on development and testing of concepts and prototypical products. 

Qualifications Required: Qualification 1: Bachelor of Science (BSEE preferred) degree with emphasis in Electrical  Engineering, Electronics, or Mechatronics from a four-year college or university.

Qualification 2: 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering field working as part of a  multifunctional engineering team.

Qualification 3: Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualification 4: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries  or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business  community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to technical peers, management, customers and public groups. 

Qualification 5: Ability to apply advanced mathematical, electrical, and electronic concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply  mathematical operations needed to analyze test data - such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Qualification 6: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid  conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Travel Requirements: Approximately 10% travel required.
