POSITION DETAILS
This position reports to the Director of Arts and Culture. In addition to CUNY Title Overview, the Media Production Manager will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
• Partner with client Staff in developing strategies for end-state vision, targeting, and messaging for assigned project(s).
• Lead the efforts of internal and external professionals to execute media projects; supervise staff and interns.
• Manage a team of Media Producers in creating content for various types of media outlets such as web, TV, film, and podcast.
• Create and maintain databases, workflows, inventories, and other archives to safeguard electronic media products and equipment.
• Build content calendar and execute production in accordance with agreed schedule; ensure timelines are followed and deadlines are met.
• Research and manage coordination of shoots; launch plans.
• Determine, recommend, and collect releases and be able to acquire additional footage/photos tooptimize content production and promotion.
• Conduct interviews, set up events b-roll, select work closely with editors to develop stories in single camera or multi-camera configurations.
• Collaborate with production to complete scripted videos, both short and long-form; organize and slate footage in Media Archive Server.
• Pitch, write, and field produce stories for air in digital and broadcast formats.
• Write tight scripts and storyboards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and six years’ related experience required.
Campus-specific qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in media studies, video production or comparable field and six years’ related experience required.
• 2+ years' experience in video production.
• A working understanding of Final Cut and Adobe Cloud Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and After Effects)
• Experienced with audio recording and monitoring equipment.
• Strong knowledge of video ingests and logging process, transcoding, formats and standards.
• Must demonstrate sophisticated aesthetic, technical skill, and knowledge of current shooting trends.
• Must possess strong storytelling skills and story development.
• Knowledge of animating Motion Graphics.
• A professional demeanor is expected as well as a strong attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and manage numerous projects and complete them within a given time frame.
• Strong production skills and familiarity with Black Magic Pocket Cinema, Lumix, Sony and Canon DSLR cameras
• A willingness to experiment with styles and techniques including the design of graphic elements.
• Independent producer who's comfortable working alone and/or with a small team to troubleshoot and manage video projects.
• Strong time-management skills and ability to prioritize and juggle concurring projects.
• Must be able to think creatively to solve unique problems.
• Must be highly motivated, and able to work well alone and as part of a team.
• Must be willing to travel as a field producer at various times throughout the year.
• Prior experience in media projects focusing on the Puerto Rican Island/stateside communities strongly preferred.
• Bilingual - Fluency in English a must and competency in Spanish preferred.

Manages pre-production, production, and post-production of television, radio, video, and film programming.
Manages one or more aspects of a film, television, or radio facility
Recruits, trains, schedules, and supervises full-time and part-time employees including student interns
Works with internal and external clientele to identify needs and help them plan broadcast activities; provides a high level of customer service
Makes digital media available to web production personnel and others as needed to support academic programs
Develops and produces broadcast programs, independently or with students, internal College departments, or external entities
Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience ($67,784 -$82,928).
