Uber Counsel, Ads Legal in New York, New York

About the Role

The Ads & Marketing Legal team partners with Uber's fast-growing Advertising Business to take on novel challenges, offering strategic counsel to Sales, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams; and partners with Uber's Marketing & Comms organizations to advise on Marketing Campaigns, Digital Media, Consumer Protection, and Advertising Law issues.

We are looking for an exceptional lawyer to support Ads product development and commercial negotiations in ad sales, with a focus on AdTech, consumer protection, and privacy and data issues on the Ads Legal team. What You'll Do

  • Advise on issues arising from areas of law such as intellectual property, privacy, content regulation, consumer protection, and advertising.

  • Provide legal advice to teams from the initial stages of product development to launch and from pitching ad clients to campaign flight.

  • Work closely with cross-functional global stakeholders, including tax, finance, accounting, policy, and communications, to strategically advise.

  • Provide legal advice to teams from the initial stages of product development to launch and from pitching ad clients to campaign flight.

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders including tax, finance, accounting, policy and communications to strategically advise.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of legal experience with product counseling experience, supporting the development of advertising and ad tech products, features, and related deal structures.

  • J.D. and license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$178,000 per year - USD$198,000 per year. For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$178,000 per year - USD$198,000 per year. For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
