Simon & Schuster is seeking a Financial Analyst who will assist the business manager and other senior finance team members with the management of different business units.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with editorial team to prepare title acquisition P&Ls

  • Analysis of title profitability post publication

  • Prepare presentation packages for meetings with publishers or other senior level executives

  • Work with associate publishers to review marketing expenditures

  • Maintain current year title database

  • Assist business manager with monthly revisions to revenue & expense forecast

  • Provide monthly sales reports

  • Ad-hoc financial analysis

Qualifications:

  • 0 – 1 year of experience in corporate finance

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access

  • Knowledge of IBM TM1/Cognos a plus

  • Effective organization and multi-tasking skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Quick learner

  • Self-starter

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
