Job Summary

As the Sales and Commercial Manager - Material Solutions US, you are accountable for establishing a successful business development strategy in the US. As part of the overall sales plan of growing Material Solutions’ revenue from $5M to $100M over the next 3 years, you are responsible for delivering the agreed US portion.

You will be responsible for branding and marketing Material Solutions in the US market specifically. You will also support similar efforts towards other markets when needed. You will develop and retain long-term relationships with relevant parties, such as historical customers, potential partners and other new customers as they may appear.

Customers include Aerospace Engine OEMs as well as customers in others markets (automotive, oil & gas, energy, etc.), particularly customers through which we may generate synergies to our engine product portfolio. You will also take responsibility for addressing instructional authorities in the US to obtain financial support to our new potential capabilities/facilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Marketing of GKN Aerospace Material Solutions in the US

  • Develop Aerospace opportunities in concert with Programs

  • Develop and maintain competition and market intelligence

  • Address and pursue funding opportunities in the US

  • Annual sales plan US fulfilment

  • Address Material Solutions’ contribution to GKN’s net-zero 2050 emission ambition and participate in our development of circular economy

  • Develop non-aerospace opportunities in the US where clear synergies exists towards our engine product portfolio

  • Coordinate our efforts towards establishing production capacity and capability in the US

  • Participate in maintaining an up to date business plan in close cooperation with Programs

  • Look for opportunities to develop our business in the broad term (new markets, partnerships, JVs, new products, etc.)

  • Sales forecasting and annual sales plan development

  • Maintain a commercial interface with customers through/with Programs

  • New business idea development and capture

  • Coordinate the bid process for relevant products/markets in cooperation with Programs

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering related field

  • 5+ years sales/marketing/commercial experience or related technical experience with aerospace products.

  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • GKN experience preferred.

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to open meetings, define meeting objectives, and retain group focus on objectives.

  • Performance will require meeting or exceeding annually defined sales targets.

  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions.

  • You are excellent in expressing complex thoughts and directives in spoken or written English language.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

  • Frequent travel to the sites and customer locations.
