Siemens Energy Product Design Engineer - DRL Centrifugal Compressors in Olean, New York

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Product Design Engineer, you will design/development the centrifugal compressor that will be incorporated into the overall package by performing calculations and producing engineering documentation.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Independently perform assignments that require a thorough knowledge of thermodynamics, machine design, metallurgy, installation, operation, and application of compressors.

  • Define product design requirements for centrifugal compressors in accordance with contract requirements and internal design standards along with creating engineering documentation.

  • Conduct studies and investigations to determine feasibility of designs associated with the application of compressors.

  • Effectiveness in meeting established schedule due dates.

  • Investigate manufacturing deviations and provide corrective action.

  • Analyze test results of compressor and determine performance, design qualities, and operating deficiencies for the product.

  • Investigate field problems and provide corrective action in terms of component redesign of core compressor.

  • Conduct product improvement programs toward minimizing costs, improved performance, and promote standardization!

What You Bring

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Aero Engineering.

  • At least 5 years of experience with centrifugal compressors for Oil & Gas and other Process Industry applications, through roles in Compressor Design, Customer Order Engineering, or Product Line Engineering.

  • Experience in responding to technical queries in face-to-face and virtual meetings with internal and external customers!

  • Experience with Industry Standards, such as API, JIP, ASME, etc.
