About the Role

A Set-up Technician is responsible for manufacturing parts and assemblies for shipment to customers, meeting

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) measures for quality and performance. In addition, a Set-up Technician is responsible for the basic trouble-shooting and repair of equipment within their assigned cell within a set of established guidelines. It is the Set-up Technician's job to ensure that the equipment produces parts throughout the production

run according to customer specification.

Your Responsibilities

Machine Operator Responsibilities:

  • Using the tools provided machine and assemble parts within customer specification.

  • Ensure that established OEE quality, availability and performance standards are achieved within designated cells and workstations.

  • Ensure that safety standards are maintained within the designated cells and workstations.

  • Ensure that all parts are checked according to the established Quality Control Standards using the tools provided.

Technician Responsibilities:

  • Immediately set in to troubleshoot problems to ensure timely and appropriate repair.

  • If a quick and effective repair is possible, complete the repair work.

  • If a quick and effective repair is not possible, notify the supervisor immediately to assign a Line Mechanic.

  • In any event, if a repair extends beyond time or complexity guidelines, the Line Mechanic will be called in.

General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that standard job procedures are understood and followed;

  • Ensure that all environmental requirements are identified and addressed when performing duties.

  • Ensure that all safety requirements are being carried out when performing duties.

  • Provide support for defined Business Systems requirements.

  • Provide support for the continuous improvement initiatives within Techform.

  • Carry out all duties focusing on the goal of internal and external customer satisfaction.

  • Other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or designate.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Good written and verbal communication skills are required;

  • Attention to detail is key;

  • A strong mechanical aptitude is required.

  • An individual in this position must be capable of working under general supervision; however, some judgment is allowed in applying specific guidelines for work; finished work is checked for overall compliance to specification.

  • Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent is an asset.
