The Water Sources Section of the Provo City Water Resources Division in the Public Works Department is looking for responsible individuals to fill the position of part-time seasonal Water Sources Laborer. Theses assignments are seasonal and run from May to November.

Pay Rate : $15.00 - $18.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Essential Duties:

• Maintain all water production facilities and spring areas.

• Repair water lines. Build and repair fences.

• Trim trees.

• Perform concrete construction work and reservoir maintenance.

• Assist other crew members as needed and perform other related work as required.

• May also be required to operate a backhoe, boom truck, jet machine, and weed burner.

  Minimum Requirements :

• Any training or experience that would demonstrate an ability to perform the duties of the position.

• Applicant must have sufficient physical strength and agility to complete the work tasks successfully and safely.

• Valid, lawful driver license.

• Preference given to applicants with a commercial driver license.

  Hours and Duration: Up to forty (40) hours per week, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. May – November 2024.

  Physical/Environmental Factors: This work requires climbing ladders, bending, carrying, occasional heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs.), loading, digging holes and other excavations, working in the river, working in confined spaces, and being exposed to adverse weather conditions, high noise levels, and pesticides.

  Pre-employment Screening : Prior to appointment, applicant will be required to successfully pass a drug screening and criminal background investigation. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screening results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six months.
