CITY OF PUEBLO SY-Seasonal Pool Manager in Pueblo, Colorado

POSITION: Seasonal Pool Manager

DUTIES: * Provides lead supervision of pool staff and oversees an assigned municipal aquatics facility. * Assigns Assistant Pool Managers, Lead Lifeguards, Lifeguards, and cashiers to duty areas. * Observes performance of staff * Schedules staff and conducts ongoing performance evaluations of staff. * Checks for proper maintenance and will assign as well as perform a variety of daily maintenance duties, including but not limited to vacuuming and daily water testing. * Assures all maintenance and staff logs are kept in an efficient manner. * Oversees scheduled pool facility special events. * Develops and conducts in-service training programs for pool staff. * Enforces program, facility, and department rules and regulations. * Performs rescues and administers artificial respiration, CPR, AED, and First Aid as required. * Basic swimming pool maintenance, operations, and safety of assigned area. * Appropriate pool staff supervision skills * Lifeguard and cashiering responsibilities * Record keeping methods and procedures. * Aquatic programming practices * Principles, practices, and application of lifesaving, AED, CPR and First Aid techniques * Instruct, schedule, and supervise staff and deal with employee issues. * Prepare quality written reports. * Keep accurate activity records. * Enforce pool rules and regulations. * Act quickly and calmly in emergencies; administer First Aid and CPR; perform rescue actions. * Schedule and conduct various meetings with pool staff as needed. * Operate a cash register or POS and accurately handle money. * The individual must be able to lift dead weight exceeding 100 pounds and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. * Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: * Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. * A valid Colorado Driver's License or State ID at time of employment. * Have a high school diploma or be in the process of obtaining one. * At least two (2) year of supervisory experience. * At least one (1) year of aquatics experience. * CPR, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguarding certifications must be up-to-date or obtained before employment. These certifications must be maintained throughout the term of employment.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: * A swim test requiring demonstrated proof of swimming ability and rescue skills will be administered prior to appointment to position. * Understand and follow oral and written instructions * Make basic mathematical calculations * Provide thoughtful and thorough analysis * Listen, communicate, and work effectively with a diverse group of people * Handle multiple projects simultaneously and use good judgment in prioritizing work assignments. * Operate a variety of standard office equipment including computer, telephone, 10-key calculator, and copier. * Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the general-public. * This position involves regular exposure to dust, noise, inclement weather, temperature extremes, pool chemicals, chemically treated pool water, and extended direct exposure to the sun.

WAGE: $16.70 - $17.90 hourly

SHIFTS: * Able to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Temporary/Seasonal
