Our team is dedicated to the core mission of Teams to deliver reliable, performance and high-quality video conferencing experience. We are a unique cross-functional cross-stack and cross-platform team delivering the end-to-end implementation and optimization of video conferencing experiences, along with cutting-edge real-time media functionalities. This includes video stage user experience (UX), video composition, video processing, and video rendering, across desktop, mobile and web platforms, as well as monitoring of audio/video reliability through telemetry, data analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI). Our focus spans a wide spectrum of video, graphics, computer vision, and AI innovations.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to a world-class product used by millions of daily users in the dynamic realm of video and real-time collaboration.

We are seeking seasoned full-stack engineers with experience in working with large and intricate codebases, across native stack (c++) and web front end (React), and with analytic skill set for data driven development and AI.

In this role, you will:

Architect and Design : Take charge of designing and implementing real-time video technology features. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing the overall video conferencing experience for millions of users.

Telemetry and Analysis : Design reliability and performance telemetry. Leverage AI and machine learning techniques to analyze this data, gaining insights that drive continuous improvement.

Cross-Platform Impact : Work across our full stack, from native C++ to TypeScript. This unique opportunity allows you to influence product development across desktop, mobile, and web platforms.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++ or TypeScript.

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3 years experience in fields related to communication platforms, video conferencing, streaming, media application, Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) Graphics, Web stack or real-time collaboration applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of practical experience for data analysis and AI. Capable of critically evaluating data to derive meaningful, actionable insights.

  • Experience in development, debugging, and profiling in Windows/Mac environments.

  • Familiar with native and web development.

  • Design and development as a part of large-scale products.

  • Experience with React, Apollo, GraphQL framework.

  • Computer graphics and rendering technologies: OpenGL, DirectX, Metal, Vulkan, WebGPU

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
