The Back End Software Engineer is tasked with applying best practices to the architecture, design, development, testing and deployment of customized software products. We are looking to hire individuals experienced with software development and integration background, who can help us solve the next wave of technical challenges using the latest cloud-based, big-data, and rich analytics tool sets.

You should be familiar with the full development lifecycle, from requirements identification and prototyping, through design and implementation, to customer acceptance and delivery. You are especially enthusiastic about crafting excellent software designs and participating in an Agile/SCRUM setting to meet and exceed customer expectations.

This is a remote position for candidates based in Bulgaria & Poland.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, Design, Develop and Test robust and scalable applications leveraging .NET, Azure and C#

  • Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic leveraging CosmosDB, SQLServer and other Azure services

  • Jointly own technology decisions with product managers and architects, ensuring the delivery of robust solutions.

  • Resolve complex and critical production issues, as well as handle escalated service issues.

  • Participate in customer requirements gathering, validating software and training.

  • Mentor junior software engineers, helping them overcome obstacles and develop their skills.

  • Maintain a focus on quality and continuously strive for improving applications and processes.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification (Master's degree a plus)

  • Previous experience with application development, system architecture or a similar role that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 6 years’ experience).

  • Solid experience with .NET , C# programming and object-oriented development

  • Experience with SQL and NOSQL databases like SQLServer, CosmosDB/MongoDB

  • Experience with designing and building RESTful APIs for data integrations

  • Proficiency in developing cloud, serverless, and event-driven solutions in Azure/AWS, including functions, databases, APIs.

  • In some cases an equivalency, consisting of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with other programming languages such as JavaScript, Python or Ruby

  • Knowledge of Life Sciences systems and business is a plus

  • Good understanding of development and testing frameworks and best practices

  • Proficency in code management and deployment patterns including branching

  • Ability to work in established environment and delve deep into complex systems and processes using analytical skills and creative thinking.

  • A Client-focused approach with strong people skills

  • Ability to multitask , lead junior developers and contractors.

  • Creativity to propose innovative, effective solutions and designs.

  • Exceptional communication skills in English (written and oral) for relaying valuable information, training new staff members, and communicating solutions to complex problems.

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management

  • Deep technical knowledge and experience working in a data-focused organization

  • Flexible and comfortable with changing direction and competing priorities

  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with global cross-functional teams

  • Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality software products
