Job Description

As an Associate Backend Process Engineer specialized in the semiconductor industry, your role is pivotal in developing and optimizing backend semiconductor manufacturing processes to meet the stringent requirements of this rapidly evolving and highly competitive sector. Specifically, this role would support one of the key backend areas: Final Wafer Test/Probe, Outgoing Inspection, Wafer Dicing, or Tape & Reel. In this role you will work closely with various departments to ensure the smooth operation of semiconductor fabrication processes and drive innovation in semiconductor manufacturing technology.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Engineering support of manufacturing and current manufacturing issues to ensure smooth operation and drive for on-time delivery, including monitoring of process indicators and introduction of countermeasures

  • Optimization and further development of existing manufacturing processes to improve performance of key process indicators

  • Introduction, qualification, and release of new processes and manufacturing methods as well as new products

  • Preparation and maintenance of workplace work instructions and execution of on-the-job training for manufacturing staff

  • Interaction with both internal and external parties to order and manage equipment, spare parts, and auxiliary materials to support manufacturing

  • Collaboration in the development, selection and introduction of new MAE, available options and accessories; planning and execution of process capabilities studies

  • Investigation and decision making for problem batches and customer complaints

  • Actively participate and focus on continuous improvement of manufacturing methods to improve yields, equipment availability to reduce costs, and improve quality

  • Participate in interdepartmental and interdisciplinary teams and focus groups to respond to on-going engineering and manufacturing topics

  • Travel (including internationally) as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Electrical, Chemical, Material Engineering, or Physics or the equivalent in education.

  • 1+ years of work experience in Semiconductor Process Engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with industry-specific standards, including ISO, SEMI, and ESD.

  • Strong communications skills with various audiences from vendors to fellow engineers to operators.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and project management skills.

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft applications—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams

Additional Information

  • This role will work on site in Roseville, CA.

  • This position works Monday- Friday, overtime and on call when necessary.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $66,000 - $80,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. Your Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.
