South Texas Blood & Tissue Center (STBTC) (http://southtexasblood.org/) , a subsidiary of BioBridge Global, is a not-for-profit community blood center specializing in a variety of services to include providing blood, plasma, platelets and other blood components to numerous hospitals in 43 South Texas counties. STBTC is a community partner focused on enhancing health care through innovation and stewardship.

Location: San Antonio- Hill Country territory to include but not limited to Boerne, Fredericksburg, Kerrville, etc

Pay rate: Hourly $26.00-$30.00 / Annually $54,080.00-$64,400.00

General Summary

Responsible to achieve established blood collection goals by recruiting community businesses, religious institutions, organizations, and groups to sponsor blood drives.

Will educate and inform their members about the functions and needs of the community Blood Donor Program.

Conduct all aspects of donor recruitment within assigned areas, including public education, persuasive presentations, blood drive administration and minority outreach programs. Develop value proposition for existing and new accounts to highlight benefits blood donation.

Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.

It is essential that the incumbent have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old with a good driving record to meet organization driving standards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Tasks

Achieve established blood collection goals within established department guidelines and performance requirements, including whole blood and apheresis.

Assure appropriate planning which fosters consistent territorial production goal achievement and within CPUC guidelines.

Identify, develop and implement creative strategies to attract potential sponsors consistent with organizational goals.

Assure preparation of individual account and territorial management plans to maximize production.

Include flexible approaches to include comprehensive product offering that reflects benefits of whole blood and platelet donations.

Coordinate recruitment drives including logistics, supplies, volunteer help, education, and media coverage, when appropriate.

Must follow and execute steps for 10-week plan (recruitment account timeline) for blood drives.

Consistently implement recruitment strategies to include timely documentation of all activities/notes in Hemacollect or the appropriate CRM (Customer Relationship Management) platform.

Consistently develop and implement fundamental recruitment plans for each account (Ask/Commit/Remind/Recognize strategy expressed in measurable call notes along with components of those recruitment tactics.

Develop and maintain effective relationships with blood drive sponsors including maximizing selling opportunities and timely follow up in accordance with the 10-week plan.

Consistently implement fundamentals of relationship selling, including facilitating executive involvement in serving as champion for blood and platelets.

Prospect new organizations and groups to sponsor blood drives and mobile platelet operations.

Assure recruitment processes include consistently practicing active listening to discern the voice-of-the-customer.

Provide educational events to the community regarding the functions and needs of the Blood Donor program and encourage blood drive sponsorship with appropriate Chairperson.

Coordinate community blood drives and provide organizational and operational support to the sponsoring organization and the assigned Chairperson.

Arrange all aspects of recruitment drives including scheduling, obtaining volunteers, educational events, and media coverage, when appropriate.

Maintain accurate and updated records, tracking, and statistical data by completing drive results as required and providing appropriate correspondence.

Assist with public relations requests to meet departmental, newspaper, radio and television deadlines.

Arrange for and assist in the preparation of material for special events, media or visitors.

Coordinate and work booths at fairs and special events, etc.

Maintain a close working relationship with recruitment and Donor Services staff, assuring world class service delivery.

Assist coworkers with completion of assigned job tasks as necessary.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Requires a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.

Licenses and/or Certifications

Texas Operators Driver’s License

Experience

Requires two years of customer service or event planning/management experience.

Outside sales experience required.

Knowledge

Must have a thorough understanding of relationship selling process.

Must acquire a thorough working knowledge of all phases of the Blood Donor Program.

Must be or become familiar with the community and area serviced.

Must be able to handle multiple assignments and deadlines.

Must possess strong sales skills.

Must have the ability to consistently conduct 15-20 face-to-face sales appointments each week.

Working Environment

Works in well-lighted, air-conditioned and heated vehicle or office environments, but may work in confined spaces and non-climate controlled conditions.

May be exposed to electrical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to an office environment.

May be required to work at any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend to include being on-call. Occasional out of town and overnight stays required.

Ability to use personal motor vehicle for company business required.
