The Downstream Hardware Automation Engineer for Cytiva is responsible for providing automation expertise during pre-sales discussions through post-sales support. This multifaceted role combines technical expertise with exceptional customer service to drive sales and contribute to the growth of Cytiva as well as the success of our customers.

This position is part of the Downstream Hardware Modality located in Bioprocess and will be fully remote. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you will do:

  • Identify and recommend automation solution during the sales process for our bioprocess downstream hardware and software/automation platform.

  • Provide engineering/control knowledge, support system integration and educate/assist in various connectivity options.

  • Provide lead role in troubleshooting complex issues involving communication, networking, cyber security and SQL Database.

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver in depth training on automation products and applications.

  • Use market and product knowledge, customer insights, and current technology trends to be able to provide regular feedback to our R&D and product management teams. This will drive product improvement and development of new products to meet customer needs and future demands.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/computer science, or relevant field.

  • At least 5 years of experience in Engineering in manufacturing or Automation experience in Biotech, Pharma or Commercial manufacturing.

  • Comprehensive understanding of automation technologies. Proficiency with computer systems, working knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, DeltaV or control systems, SQL database, OPC technology, or UNICORN.

  • Ability to travel up to 30%, including international.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Proficiency in control systems and instrumentation, with a strong working knowledge.Practical experience in UNICORN

  • Experience designing GMP-compliant commercial-scale chromatography and filtration equipment.

The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $120,000 annual base salary. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
