The Trust team’s mission is to ensure both buyers and sellers transact on eBay with complete confidence. We aim to achieve this mission by building world-class products that enable customers to manage their post-purchase requests effectively, with a full moneyback guarantee by eBay. This team is responsible for building innovative solutions in Cancel, Return, eBay Moneyback Guarantee, Feedback, Seller performance, and Payment dispute management. You will lead the teams to innovate in this space, create new scalable systems to serve our customers worldwide, and build solutions that will serve millions of customers globally.

The ideal candidate is interested in being part of a nimble team, passionate about innovating for customers, and has a demonstrable track record of success in delivering new features and products. A commitment to teamwork and strong communication skills, to both business and technical partners, are absolute requirements. The role requires leaders with technical depth to guide the development process and project management skills to ensure the proper solution is delivered to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver on the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for the trust domain.

  • Inspire teams to innovate, invent, implement, and deploy software solutions for a diverse portfolio of products and technologies.

  • Partner closely with your Product, UX, and Global Business colleagues to deliver on our overall mission.

  • Lead, grow, and develop a talented engineering organization through effective hiring, mentoring, coaching, succession planning, and retention strategies for key talent in a highly competitive environment.

  • Build and manage a world-class team of managers and engineers.

  • Measure and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes that are working well and build the next level of improvements.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering

  • 5 years of experience managing engineering teams of 40 or more engineers.

  • Experience in partnering with product, UX, program management, and business teams.

  • Experience in full-stack development.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.

  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to set and drive big picture strategy while providing detailed technical and strategic guidance to the team and enabling them to execute more effectively and deliver products on time.
