In being a part of the CXL Firmware Validation team, we are responsible for technically reviewing the architecture specifications and crafting test infrastructure, topology, cases and handling test executions! We are an instrumental component of Micron’s CXL engineering team! We are responsible for delivering outstanding firmware to help drive Micron’s CXL strategy as well as delivering the best end-to-end user experience working with Micron’s CXL products. You will be working along with firmware validation, software solutions, firmware and ASIC development, test, and debug Infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review system architecture spec and design spec, test plan development, test development and software infrastructure development for automation, Hardware/Firmware level debug, Customer specification analysis & technical customer support.

  • Ensure solution releases meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency in regard to end user experience and performance.

  • Keep up with the latest industry research to ensure we are appropriately bringing to bear new technologies while aligning with internal standard.

  • Apply experience with FW development, testing, along with scripting skills in Python programming language to support HW, FW and SW engineering.

  • With variety of product development tools, including JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Git, TCL, etc. to craft and validate Micron’s CXL memory-based products.

  • Develop a platform to characterize system level power, performance, and thermal characteristics of our product to meet product requirements and industry standards.

  • Participate and contribute to Hardware and Firmware architecture, design, test plan, and test case development.

  • Implement system level stress tests on various in-house as well as customer platforms and provide reports to upper management and internal as well as external customers.

  • Debug sophisticated HW, FW, and SW issues, provide root cause and resolution, and provide vital corrective actions. Develop code in C and Python.

  • Strong understanding of Non-Volatile memory storage protocols and storage media algorithms.

  • Planning, developing and conducting system level validation and qualification of Micron’s CXL technology-based products which includes – involvement in joint customer qualification and customer issue resolution and technical customer support for sophisticated field issues.

  • Handling & validation of memory components. Detailed understanding of logic gates is required to understand different workflows and perform validation to ensure a quality CXL product is delivered.

  • Hands-on experience in the lab with validation and characterization tools will ramp up bringing quality products keeping customer use cases in perspective and reduce component fall-out.

  • Require experience in understanding industry and country specifications and enforce these standards during handling and validation of product line

  • Detailing product behavior and suggesting corrections and fixes to firmware and product teams and thereby ensuring observations are in-line to standards. To corroborate observations on product behavior, traces must be provided to engineering teams employing analyzers and scopes

  • Handling and configuring third party tools to characterize product behavior. To ascertain product behavior, and perform root cause analysis, proficiency in identifying the triaging steps is required.

  • Automation of test processes and methodologies is required to improve test coverage for CXL product line. Experience in efficient application of industry standard languages like Python, C/C++ enables to perform regression and improve quality of the product.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree as required and Master’s degree preferred.

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience

  • Experience in one scripting language. (Python preferred)

  • Understanding of Windows and UNIX / Linux server storage environments

  • Deep understanding of system level topologies, performance metrics and OS kernels.

  • Experience working on customer test plan and test environment.

  • Experience in reproducing and analyze customer defects using industry standard tools.

  • Familiar with ASIC/Backend Media product life cycle. (Development, Validation, Support)

  • Strive in agile environment and distributed team structure, have a product quality mentality.

  • This position may have 10 - 20% travel (yearly conference)

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge in CXL domain in terms of specification and ecosystem.

  • Experience in DRAM topology and validation, PCIe/NVMe

  • Experience in Protocol trace analysis.

  • Experience in programming language. (C/C++/Java)

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$173,000.00 - $294,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
