You will have an opportunity to define eBay’s next generation tools that help us manage our infrastructure, work on exciting projects that enable us to operate network security with minimal human interaction.

Your primary responsibilities will help our Org develop security tools to help streamline operational inefficiencies. Our goal is take every manual task and improve or replace with automation. You have full reign over crafting systems and integrating with other tools where that freedom will help design solutions that will benefit all within the organization.

You would be involved in helping build creative solutions around configuration management, automated compliance checks, and building a CI/CD process for policy enforcement.

You should be a strong DevOps engineer with a real passion to drive automation at all stages of software development, release, operations and maintenance.

Your background should include:

  • 5-7 years of hands on experience in development and Ops.

  • Experience with object oriented languages such as Python (required), C, Java, or Go.

  • Understanding of routing, switching, and firewalls.

  • Proficient with Production site standard methodologies in security, reliability, and scaling.

  • Deployment experience with containers, virtualization

  • Familiar with one or more configuration management solutions (Ansible, Salt, or Puppet)

  • Proficiency in using source code control systems, continuous build integration, test case management and reporting tools
