Amazon Business Intelligence Engineer, BR Security and Loss Prevention in Sao Paulo, Brazil

At Amazon, data is at the heart of everything we do and is a critical peace of all business decisions. With rapid growth come new challenges to overcome, and this is why we have created a new Business Intelligence Analyst within the Brazil’s Security and Loss Prevention (BRLP) team.

Amazon is seeking an expert Business Intelligence Analyst to play a key role of creating metrics, develping reports and data visualization that influence the security strategy for protecting people, assest and information. This work will define how we improve customer satisfaction by reducing overall loss in transit and inventory adjustment (shrink).

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a key role on the development of metrics and trend analysis. You will need to interface with a diverse set of stakeholders including data engineering, financial, customer service, and operations teams. To be successful, you should demonstrate the ability to balance excellent analytical and technical skills while clearly driving communication and collaboration with other key partners. As a member of the BRLP, you will also have the opportunity to leverage your passion for data science to create high impact solutions to our customers.

Key job responsibilities

• Technical expert in the use of data mining, scoping and building of web and excel based reports and analytics

• Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of both structured and unstructured data to help automate and optimize loss prevention actions

• Use of data visualization software to develop dashboards, metric tracking and trends against department goals

• Meeting deliverable time frames set by BRLP leadership, that support business goals in collaboration with the product management team and stakeholders

• Monitor and report potential crises, and have flexibility to think critically and problem solve

• Respond to tickets and requests for support from our internal customers, prioritizing based on demand and project impact to business

• Track and report on metrics which are key performance indicators, allowing performance improvements so that the desired outcomes are achieved to plan and in a timely manner

• Subject matter expert on all related technical projects for Security & Loss Prevention team

• Ensure all programs comply with Amazon Information Security (InfoSec) standards

• Ability to root cause problems and independently iterate solutions

• Write documents and reports to stakeholders based on valuable data and drive a fast decision-making process.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience

  • Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience

  • Experience with SQL

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

  • Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent

  • Experience partnering with executive-level leaders to identifying and solving business issues

  • Demonstrated ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner.
