The School of Nursing has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Operations Specialist (E S 7) to provide operational support to the Office of Student and Academic Affairs. This position will provide operational leadership for overall academic programmatic operations, including accreditation and compliance documentation, policy development and implementation, student and faculty support and communications, and day-to-day operations. The Program Operations Specialist will work closely with academic program directors, Student and Academic affairs staff, and numerous stakeholders within and outside of the School of Nursing. The Program Operations Specialist will report to the Administrator for the Office of Student and Academic Affairs. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing demands.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Program operations: 60%

  • Develop, implement and manage academic program procedures in alignment with School, University, State and National standards.

  • Manage numerous programmatic accreditation and compliance processes. This involves synthesis and tracking of numerous School, University, State and National standards.

  • Create and manage program analyses and reporting, including course evaluations (over 500 courses offered) and board certifications.

  • Collaborate with the Office of Clinical Placements to track student clinical trajectories and attainment of competencies.

  • Plan, develop, and support quality improvement projects; develop and manage initiatives to address concerns.

  • Project manage highly complex program and curriculum revisions.

  • Manage DNP project matching—including synthesis of complex data from external stakeholders, students, and faculty--under the direction of the program director.

  • Manage DNP poster day and PhD scholarship day, including complex logistical planning and internal and external stakeholder communications.

  • Manage A/BSN senior practicum matching under the direction of the program director.

  • Manage tracking of student interprofessional education records.

  • Lead programmatic website updates.Student and faculty support: 30%

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on behalf of the program.

  • Handle and solve faculty- and student-identified concerns and issues.

  • Provide timely responses to student and faculty inquiries.

  • Collaborate with other units on campus to meet student needs.

  • Manage student handbooks and oversee updates, including congruence with School and University processes, in collaboration with program directors.

  • Coordinate student orientation activities across School of Nursing units.

  • Support degree-specific student events, including pinning ceremonies.

  • Support tracking of faculty licensure, certification, and other credentialing requirements.Administrative support: 10%

  • Coordinate connected teaching across all degree programs.

  • Manage other programmatic scheduling needs across three program directors.

  • Support post-graduate degree verifications and credentialing requests.

  • Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-3 years experience in program management or administration, preferably in healthcare or nursing education OR relevant combination of education/experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, education, social sciences, communications, healthcare management or similar.

  • Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience supporting academic programs and/or students.

  • Excellent organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail.

  • Comfortable in fast paced environment and multi-tasking.

  • Sound judgment and discretion with access to sensitive information.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and collaborative skills; strong written and verbal communication skills. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of UW policies, procedures, and systems.

  • Experience in nursing education.

  • Previous experience working with students in an administrative setting and/or familiarity with academic advising. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This position is 8-5pm with rare evening work to support programmatic events.

  • This is a hybrid position with approximately 3 days on campus (Seattle) per week.
