Google Staff Software Engineer, Wireless Connectivity, Google Pixel in Shanghai, China

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience in Software Architecture.

  • Experience in C, C++.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in developing Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS), Linux kernel subsystems and drivers, and debugging.

  • Experience in software development with Python, Java, or Rust.

  • Understanding of embedded software (e.g., Embedded Linux) and hardware architectures.

  • Understanding of modern wireless connectivity technologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to collaborate effectively with multiple teams/stakeholders to launch features.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering helpful mobile experiences. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s software and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world. This job involves software/hardware functionality, creating good performance and features on Google Pixel series products.

  • Design and develop system software for Google Pixel Tensor devices.

  • Scope, plan, and oversee the execution of engineering projects to ensure quality and timely delivery.

  • Propose long-term strategy for wireless feature performance, power, and stability improvements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for wireless related features.
