Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

What your background should look like:

Tasks Summary & Responsibilities

 Ensure accuracy and maintain the Info Record and Source List data in alignment with MRP parameters, incl. MOQ, Price, and LT.

 Be the first line of communication to the suppliers and establish a regular communication cadence and escalate suppliers that impose significant risk to business (e. g. line downs, high financial impact, general compliance with TE requirements) to the next internal level.

 Closely cooperate with Planners on Material risks and opportunities.

 Closely cooperate with BU and Center led commodity team to establish supplier sourcing strategy, under consideration of customer needs, that defines strategic suppliers into grow, fix and exit suppliers and maintains product footprint, incl. “make or buy”-analysis.

 Responsible for preparing RFQ’s in aligned with preferred supply base strategy, utilizing E-Tools, awarding new business and negotiation all raw materials, components, and tooling to support Shenzhen plant transformation initiative

 Drive the attainment and improvement of relevant procurement KPI’s, incl. Material Productivity (CMP), Lead time performance, delivery (STR/STC), and Quality (DLPM).

 Lead Material productivity/External spend reduction initiative for Relay SV in China and drive cross-functional team for both commercial and technical savings.

 Lead the optimization of the Supplier Footprint, incl. setup of new suppliers, reducing number of supplier and supplier consolidation activities.

 Responsible for improving material productivity by maintaining 130% material pipeline, CMP, TEBIT and WAV analysis

 Responsible for contracting of supplier commercial agreements, incl. bailment, inventory management and supply agreements.

 Collect and maintain capabilities and capacities of suppliers to avoid constraints

 Closely cooperate with BU and Center led commodity team for conducting QBR’s with strategic suppliers and the drive of respective corrective actions

 Responsible for calculating impact and getting the PIA approved

 Ensure that all suppliers meet TE requirements for compliance (RoHs, Reach, conflict minerals, supplier portal usage)

 Drive the usage of the of the Supplier Portal

 Support plant team for Operations Certifications with special focus on Procurement requirements

 Support plant team for Operations Certifications and Audits – with special focus on Procurement requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, engineering background preferred.

 5+ years of relevant sourcing experience

 Sourcing experience with related commodity (metals, stamping, molding, spare parts, package, epoxy, resin) is a plus

 Excellent analytical skills and communication skills

 customer focus and continuous improvement attitude

 Ability to multi-task and ability to work in a matrix environment with multi-cultural teams

 Vendor management and negotiation skills

 Knowledge of regional and global supplier base for relevant commodities

 Advanced knowledge in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint

 Fluent Spoken and written English
