The Vaccine Preventable Disease Section seeks to fill a position responsible for implementation and administration of the federally funded Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers (IQIP) program in Minnesota. This position will be a part of the Minnesota Immunization Information Connection (MIIC) Operations Engagement Unit. All positions within the Vaccine Preventable Disease Section work to increase awareness, learning, and understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and actively engage with activities to promote an inclusive work environment for all.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Support IQIP consultants throughout Minnesota to implement the program and reach program goals, as well as maintain close contact with CDC counterparts.
Lead efforts for MIIC provider engagement to include strategy and implementation for provider participation, recruitment, and targeted outreach and communication.
Use MIIC data and tools to support efforts to improve immunization rates in Minnesota and provide specific support to our tribal health partners.
Act as a lead worker to other staff within the unit to include support and prioritization of work and foster an innovative work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
An associate degree may be substituted for six (6) months of experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for one (1) year of experience. A master's degree may be substituted for one and a half (1.5) years of experience. - At least three (3) years of experience administering a public health information systems program with an emphasis in immunization information systems.
Additional minimum qualifications to be assessed during the interview:
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, effective manner.
Preferred Qualifications
Program management experience on a large, complex public health immunization information system.
At least one (1) year of lead worker experience to include directing projects and/or leading staff.
Knowledge of and experience with immunization quality improvement approaches and programs.
Experience maintaining relationships with federal, state, and local partners.
Experience with immunizations, infection disease, and quality improvement.
Knowledge of and experience with tribal health entities in Minnesota.
Ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate productively, work in a team environment, and to train and support clinical informatics users at all professional and technical levels.
Experience training and communicating with contracted consultants, staff, and health care providers.
Experience developing materials for diverse audiences.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
