Citigroup Head of APAC Performance, Risk and Client Reporting in Sydney, Australia

Job Description

The Head of APAC Performance and Risk Analytics is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Performance team delivering the performance and risk services to multiple clients, providing KPI and metric based reporting to drive efficiencies, maintaining a strong control environment and talent development. Client ownership is key with a requirement to meet with clients on their performance services deliveries and drive transformation to align to their business needs and provide an excellent client experience.

Job Purpose:

The Head of APAC Performance and Risk Analytic will be responsible for the leadership and development of the performance and risk function within APAC. This will include responsibility for ensuring client requirements and deliveries are met accurately and timely. The role will involve implementing procedures to ensure that the performance engine is used to the best of it ability and that the team work in an efficient and accurate manner.

Key responsibilities

  • Accountable for the performance and risk function delivery within APAC including leadership of the team in Australia and Singapore and Oversight of the offshore production teams.

  • Ensure data accuracy and performance and risk reporting is produced on a timely and accurate basis, including attribution analysis covering equity and fixed income models, and all level of analysis from stock level up.

  • Ensure we leverage both our regional and global footprint and capabilities to deliver service excellence to our APAC Performance clients, and ensure the appropriate client management structures are in place to support our client needs.

  • Evaluate risk and controls and development of performance and risk procedures and controls to ensure robust control framework is in place for all clients

  • Asses new business and client change viability against existing business capabilities and make appropriate recommendations and decisions.

  • Actively look for opportunities for process improvement and automation across the Performance and Risk department, ensuring the performance engine is used to it's full capability and processes are automated .

  • Lead strategic initiatives and drive transformation to deliver operational excellence for all EMEA Performance and risk clients. Monitor, set and achieve team goals during day to day operations as well as service as as a point of escalation for complex issues, client queries and new business requests.

  • Develop strong, pro-active relationships with all internal and external customers and stakeholders including client, offshore partners, client service, product partners and other middle office teams.

  • Work closely with other relevant operational peers to ensure that process risks are minimised.

  • Monitor performance of offshore teams through MIS, attendance at regular governance meetings with offshore partners.

  • Participating in various client calls on behalf of the team.

Knowledge / experience

• Strong leadership, interpersonal and talent development skills are essential

• Extensive knowledge of performance and risk analytics methodologies across all asset classes

• Previous experience of leading performance and risk teams is essential, and managing across globally teams / partners

• Previous experience within working in an asset management environment

• Experience of developing and delivering on Performance initiatives and driving efficiency

• Experience of the FactSet platforms is essential Skills:

• Communication skills across all levels within the organisation.

• Highly numerate

• Ability to assume responsibility and ownership of project tasks

• Pragmatism combined with a can-do attitude is a pre-requisite.
