About the Position: Serves as an Environmental Engineer for the Tooele Army Depot (TEAD). Responsible for independently planning and conducting a range of complex compliance reviews for Tooele Army Depot. Responsibilities Provides expertise, advice and assistance to key Directorate management officials and technical personnel concerning difficult environmental concerns. Reviews environmental programs or projects and provides comment to insure that necessary information is considered and included. Provides advice to technical personnel concerning questions asked; explains legal requirements; reviews economic considerations, outlines application processes and furnishes data on proposed requirements. Periodically inspects and evaluates TEAD environmental facilities to assure compliance with state, federal and army environmental regulations and inspections. Prepares and maintains documentation for reporting purposes as needed pertaining to environmental concerns and hazards. Confers with higher graded Engineers, command, state and federal regulatory agencies; Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Army Environmental Center (AEC), to assure procedures are in accordance with provisions of public laws. Attends a variety of meetings, public hearings, seminars, etc., concerning environmental and hazardous waste matters. I have successfully completed at least 60 semester hours in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences that included the courses specified in A above. Ordinarily there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Experience in applying professional environmental engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to a full range of duties to administer, evaluate, control and/or resolve environmental quality matters. 2) Providing staff advisory services regarding environmental concerns and 3) implementing environmental safety controls in a variety of subject matter areas in environmental concerns associated with conventional munitions, storage, maintenance, and demil and research and development of those demil processes, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and the Clean Air Act (CAA).
