Position Summary:

Sanofi is investing in Core Data to enable significant optimization in GMP and Regulatory compliance and to drive operational performance across IA. The Master Data Steward (DS) will contribute to Sanofi Strategy and IA priorities to build and secure data quality and data governance through:

  • Seamless flow of information across IA teams the sites, Internal (Vaccine) and External GBUs (vaccine)

  • Additional digital based services for sites, GBUs, and customers,

  • Regulatory & GMP compliance risk exposure reduction,

  • Supply Chain Agility & Predictability increase,

  • ITS landscape & architecture optimization

The DS position is the SAP data gate keeper therefore the incumbent must be knowledgeable of SAP S4 HANA/MDG tools and system functionality applying all the business rules set for master data. The role is responsible for ensuring data governance is established for the cohesion of master data within SAP/MDG tool as well as interfaced tools (Supply Chain Planning Tool, LIMS, VEDR, PKH, etc).

The Master Data Steward role is structured around 3 main tasks:

  • Define data-entry processes and workflows system-instructions & train contributors.

  • Data expert who can “translate” business data in system structures.

  • Monitor the data quality, integrity & availability, identify & fix any deviation against data quality targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Define data-entry processes and workflows system-instructions & train contributors.

Data expert who can “translate” business data in system structures.

  • Based on operational processes and data management best practices, define workflows for data acquisition for entry in deep collaboration with business partners.

  • Manage workflows while maintaining a high SLA with requestors.

  • Define Key Business Rules (KBR) to optimize Workflows and secure Data Quality.

  • Privileged operational contact of Digital teams for any evolutions in tools.

  • Manage process requests for data model evolution (impact analysis & execution follow up).

  • Assess potential changes, evolutions, extension regarding Processes, Workflows & KBR.

  • The DS is leading the network corresponding to its scope of data, with the objective to increase significantly its level of data maturity.

  • The DS can contribute at different level for the Data strategy Support any project which requires Data Reference or/and Master Data.

Monitor the data quality, integrity & availability, identify & fix any deviation against data quality targets

  • Identify all potential root causes of deviation, and propose solution (processes, workflows & KBR, Training, etc).

  • Monitor the mitigation plan defined in the context of Data Quality continuous improvement process.

  • Define & implement data quality monitoring KPI/Report, in the frame of methods defined at global/local level.

  • Monitor data quality monthly and publish findings to drive action and data accuracy.

  • The DS has the mandate to perform some Data Quality audits is needed, define action plans, and monitor the execution of its remediation.

Dimensions/Scope:

Breadth of responsibility (global/regional/country/site): Since implementation of the S4 HANA/MDG with TORONTO as the pilot – Master Data and the responsibility of the DS will impact site/CORE iSHIFT/GBUs (internal/external).

Key dimensions: headcount (direct and indirect): Position has no direct reports.

Key indicators on which the job holder will be evaluated:

  • Data quality & integrity level versus target.

  • Data availability & timeliness.

  • Correct enforcement of applicable processes and documentation.

  • Effective impacts analysis for tools & data model evolutions and correct interfacing of client systems.

  • Training and awareness of the corresponding Data Network to reach and maintain the target Data Quality level.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent demonstrated skills and experience in Business (Operations), Supply Chain Management/Planning, ITS with 2-5 years of experience in Data Management and capability to work in complex/cross functional environment.

  • Advanced technical operating knowledge and experience in S4 HANA/MDG tool.

  • Experience on MS Office with a strong focus on MS Excel (MS Word, Visio and PowerPoint are a plus).

  • Full professional competency in English to mobilize teams and gather information across countries and functions.

  • Sound knowledge of GMP (good manufacturing practices).

  • Project Management experience required/an asset (formal/experience).

  • Quality Systems experience (CCR, CAPA).

  • Experience on various ITS solutions appreciated: MDM tool, ERP, MILS, MES, Power BI.

  • KPI development and visual performance tracking (SMS skills).

  • Strong interpersonal and transversal management skills with ability to create and maintain an active network.

  • Strong organization skills.

  • Superior customer service and ability to translate business needs to master data design and strategy.

  • Good analytical skills and ability to drive performance improvement within function.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; competent presentation skills a must.

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
