Senior Account Manager - North America :

Team Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an account manager to develop, enhance and support relationships with our key airline customers in the distribution space. This position is in Sabre Travel Solutions Commercial organization will be reporting into the Managing Director of airline distribution for Americas and will be responsible for developing strong and collaborative relationships with some key airline customers in this region. In this role, the account manager will work closely with other regional account directors, technical account managers, and the agency account management teams.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Interact with key airline and agency client stakeholders and be able to strike a balance between client expectations and Sabre airline distribution’s strategic objectives.

  • Develop strong relationships with airline customers, become a trusted advisor and a strategic partner on their distribution needs.

  • Keep in regular touch with airline customers to understand their distribution strategy, business needs and objectives and matching those to Sabre products and services distribution related.

  • Work closely with the agency account teams to understand operational and commercial issues reported by agency customers, and work to resolve those issues by working closely with internal teams as well as airline customers.

  • Collaborate with airline IT solutions account directors on airline account management.

  • Develop and continuously update the account plans for key customers.

  • Prepare/hold periodic business review meetings with key customers, including use of complex data to understand and advise customers on the performance of their sales via the Sabre channel.

  • Coordinate across different teams: finance, legal, marketing & communications, billing & operations, to optimize commercial results for Sabre.

  • Support commercial strategy and deal construction for airline distribution deals through quantitative analysis, collaboration with Finance (including ensuring accuracy of excel model assumptions and calculations), and development of term sheets and contracts in collaboration with legal team.

  • Keep track of key contract terms and milestones such as content commitments, pricing structure, technology regime, renewal dates, notice periods, rights and responsibilities of parties, et al.

  • Support negotiation of contract terms for contract renewals and new contracts; optimize commercial agreements to improve the distribution product set adopted by the airlines and drive new commercial initiatives to meet company and customer objectives.

  • Coordinate with various functional teams within the company to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely manner while operating within broader latitude for decisions and actions.

  • Understand clients' business and market challenges and be able to articulate Sabre Airline Distributions capabilities to address such challenges.

  • Keep deals information updated electronically in Salesforce and ensure it is included in management reporting or forecasting activities.

  • Participate and continue activities (enablement trainings and/or solution overviews) to enhance product knowledge (e.g., NDC knowledge) and understand solution roadmap/s.

  • The objective of this role is to be recognized as an expert by internal and external peers on airline distribution on commercial as well as operational matters.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum soft requirements to succeed in this role are that you – have integrity, operate with urgency, are a numbers person, are detail-oriented, build relationships easily, and handle difficult conversations comfortably.

  • Minimum travel requirement – ability and willingness to travel within North America for up to 10% of the time.

  • Minimum education requirement – Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Other preferred requirements –

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability

  • Account management and/ or management consulting experience with demonstrated ability to create, maintain and enhance client relationships.

  • Experience in airline distribution business, airline distribution technology e.g., EDIFACT, NDC, etc.

  • Experience in working on term sheets, contracts, creating executive level PowerPoints, performing financial and/or commercial analysis in Excel

  • Understanding of the airline business environment

  • Ability to collaborate at all levels both internally and externally in a highly professional and client service-oriented manner.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Handle stressful situations and deadline pressures well.

  • Spanish language skill a plus, but not required.
