Azure is in search of a skilled and self-driven individual to oversee the Sovereign cloud operation centre in Singapore. In this role, you will collaborate closely with various internal and external partners as well as operational leaders to ensure the operation centre’s availability.

This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your extensive expertise in operation centre activities and technical strategies, contributing to the improvement and long-term sustainability of operation centres. 

Responsibilities

Manage the availability of a mission-critical operation centre which requires a comprehensive approach that balances proactive maintenance, contingency planning, technology integration, and effective communication with the aim of minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted operations. The Program manager’s role in overseeing the availability of such facilities encompasses the following critical responsibilities:

• Facility Design and Construction Management: Responsible for the design and construction of new operation centre facilities, involving requirement gathering with stakeholders, budget management, vendor management, and overall project management.

• Availability Planning & Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute strategies for uninterrupted facility availability, including proactive maintenance programs to prevent downtime.

• Downtime Mitigation & Resource Allocation: Develop contingency plans to minimize downtime and efficiently allocate resources for facility maintenance.

• Performance Monitoring & Emergency Response: Continuously monitor facility systems, develop emergency response plans, and ensure quick resolution to minimize downtime.

• Stakeholder Communication & Documentation: Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and keep detailed records of maintenance activities and downtime incidents.

• Vendor and Budget Management: Manage relationships with vendors, optimize spending, and ensure timely responses for facility maintenance.

• Compliance, Safety, and Technology Integration: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, oversee safety protocols, and coordinate technology integration.

• Business Continuity & Infrastructure Planning: Develop and test business continuity plans and strategize for infrastructure expansion to meet organizational needs.

Qualifications

Required:

• Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field is essential. A master’s degree may be preferred.

• Experience: A substantial track record in managing operation centres or mission-critical environments, is essential. Candidates should have a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience.

• Strong knowledge in Project/Program Management.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.

Preferred:

• Experience: Project management experience in design and built of critical operation centre. 5+ years of operating critical operation centre platforms.

• Experience with building management systems (BMS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

• Certifications: Relevant certifications like Certified Data Centre Management Professional (CDCMP), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), and Project Management certifications like PMP, Agile are preferred.

Cloud Background check: 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.  

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: 

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
