Capability Life Cycle Management (CLCM)

The CLCM is integrated into the System Program Office (SPO) and contracted to deliver through-life asset management of Products being supported (PBS). The CLCM performs asset, sustainment and engineering functions to optimise availability and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and minimise risk through life of the PBS. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with Regional Maintenance Centre’s (RMC) to plan maintenance activities and installation of capability upgrades. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with the Design Services Contract (DSC) to plan and execute engineering changes and services. The CLCM delivers functions against the contract scope across the Asset Class Enterprise to support Defence Maritime Capability.

The Opportunity:

The High Voltage (HV) Field Engineer supports the Platform Systems Lead to deliver engineering services in accordance with DSD-ENG-SERV and specifically support the Contract Standing Capability Manager to deliver services against DID-ENG-CSCTP, DID-ENG-CSCMS, DID-ENG-CSCSR. The HV Field Engineer is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) that provides specialist knowledge on HV systems, provides mentorship to fellow Electrical Engineers supporting CLCM engineering activities. The HV Field Engineer works collaboratively and provides guidance to all stakeholders on technical matters including but not limited to HV systems like power generators, transformers, switchboards and HV cable equipment on the PBS.

The HV Field Engineer holds an Engineering delegation, executes risk based technical advice on sustainment activities in support of the ACSSPO Principal Engineer on PBS.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform as a subject matter expert and provide specialist advice to the Engineering Support Manager, Contractor Standing Capability Manager and ACSSPO Principal Engineer on HV Electrical Systems.

  • Conduct technical investigations, ship checks and reports on HV Electrical Systems on the PBS.

  • Raise, review, conduct and manage Request for Variations (RFVs) on HV Electrical Systems on the PBS.

  • Conduct Physical Configuration Audits (PCA)/Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) and ship checks on HV Electrical Systems.

  • Assist the Engineering Support Manager, Contractor Standing Capability Manager and ACSSPO Principal Engineer with real time data reporting on HV Electrical Systems.

  • Make engineering recommendations on HV Electrical Systems within delegation.

  • Develop and maintain relationships and liaise directly with OEMs for technical data and advice on HV Electrical Systems on the PBS.

  • Participate in Engineering Change Reviews and the development of Engineering Support Reports on HV Electrical Systems on the PBS.

  • Work both within and to the requirements of the Naval Technical Regulatory Framework and the ACSSPO Authorised Engineering Organisation

  • Support ACS CLCM Asset, Maintenance and Supply functions, provide technical direction, respond to queries.

  • Support ACS RMC/RMP with technical direction, respond to queries.

  • Support Ship Staff with technical direction, respond to queries.

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

Essential:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or a related discipline.

  • Eligible to obtain SQEP Engineering Delegation Authority within an Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO).

  • Highly developed organisational and analytical skills.

  • Hold, or be eligible for, membership of a recognised professional body and registration as Chartered Engineer.

  • A minimum of 10 years related experience, with typical experience ranging from 10-15 years.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a Department of Defence design delivery.

  • Experience in marine design or maintenance.

All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
