We are hiring Engineering Apprentices (Automatiker/in EFZ) for our data centers in Switzerland.

In this role you will join our Data Center Operations Team who is responsible for the maintenance of the critical facility infrastructure in AWS data centres. As an Apprentice you will be trained in high standards for operational performance in the areas of safety, security, availability, productivity, capacity, efficiency and cost. You will interact with different departments and subject matter experts to drive solutions on complex problems

Duration: 3 years

Start date: August 2024

Location: broader Zurich area

What we offer:

The apprenticeship program lasts 4 years and includes classroom learning and on the job training.

The practical training will take place at the AWS data center sites, where you will be trained by

experienced data center professionals and vocational trainers across a wide range of IT Support activities like the following:

• Deliver IT technical support to internal users for PC, network devices and conference systems

• Diagnosis and subsequent physical repair of hardware and network problems

• Perform root cause analysis of IT equipment failures

• Install new hardware according to internal procedures

• Update internal documentation to support other users

You will be given the chance to work in different areas of our company and have access to a wide

range of training materials to expand your knowledge in cloud technologies.

Basic Qualifications

• Passionate about computers and technology

• You like solving problems and learning new things

• Ability to work well with others in a team environment

• Secondary school diploma (level A and B)

• English Skills

• 15+ years old at the start of your apprenticeship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hardware installation and troubleshooting

• Interest in the cloud industry
