CMB Product Operations Lead/ CMB Product Owner

About the role:

The core purpose of the CMB Product Operations Lead is to work with the respective Product Team (incl. the Deal Lead) to create product specific strategic plans and to provide business and technical leadership for (high-) priority, complex and product portfolio programs in consideration of the contractual obligations with Japan buyers

  • Primary contact for the assigned product(s)

  • Improve leading indicators of project success. Align, synergizes with the Product Team

  • Lead CMB Product Team with responsibility for all supply related activities for divested products (e.g. Change Control Management, Launch support for non-Takeda markets, exit activities )

  • Take accountability for product projects and related project performance including milestone hit rate, risk mitigation and manage main program processes associated with preparing for new projects to support network and products' strategy. Lead Program processes and meetings.

  • Coordinate tactical information flow and support crisis and issue management across impacted GMS sites and (multiple) external customers.

  • Overarch coordination for specific projects between the sites, buyers and internal functions.

  • Utilize and serve as resource for project management tools and methodologies and collaborating to identify and apply PM principles to develop resolution plans expeditiously. New processes requiring input and development of tools to measure team goals and compliance.

  • Communicate with Senior leadership including risks and mitigation plans and proposals for strategic decisions.

How you will contribute:

  • Organise, develop agenda, facilitation and documentation for Product Team meetings and tactical/ task force team meetings and follows up on actions for strategic topics, crisis management and cross OpU/Region issue management to ensure quick paced response for critical supply issues.

  • Launches project opportunities (idea generation to project initiation) identified by the team by leading development of proposals, project charters or business cases for project approvals and subsequently determines ownership for project execution within the network

  • Set up, scopes, develop high-level project plan and monitor execution of strategic task forces on critical issue resolution and Product Team sub-teams

  • Manage product specific project portfolio ensuring understanding of product strategy and captures product budget needs and sites and responsibilities

  • Support planning concerning projects and growth capacity and coordinate tactical information flow with sites/functions at operational level

  • Facilitate translation of product strategy into clear and measurable team goals and establish Product Team dashboard to measure milestone compliance and ensure agreement and integration of operational plans with product supply tactics.

  • Lead team in risk management approaches and systems and provides complex scenario analysis for issues with revenue and measures supply risks, follows up on risk mitigation actions

  • Manage content and maintenance of program information platform (Sharepoint) and generate reporting on regular tactical and ad-hoc updates

  • Maintain the product's sourcing strategy and monitor execution of PT specific upstream activities (API, DS and DP level) necessary for the GSC Supply & Launch team

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Experience in pharmaceutical life cycle management focussing on post authorisation activities of more than 15 years with Japanese companies located in Japan

  • Knowledge of L-Takeda Products classified of Small Molecules Product Owner/ Operations Lead within Takeda

  • Experience in risk management

  • Expertise in pharmaceutical/Biotechnical operations, project management and program management

  • Understand GMS GQ technology and processes

  • Be of Takeda's Project Management Methodology and associated Project Management Office processes, recognizing how project results the success of the organization

  • Provide clear direction on project requirements to meet expectations of external customers and partners.

  • Guide implementation of projects by participating to establishing strategy, schedules, budgets, and risk analysis.

  • Development of operating mechanisms and partner mapping and ensure implementation of GMSGQ product governance throughout all projects

  • Recommend, implements, and manage the appropriate project structure and standard performance metrics

  • Can reconcile conflicting views into a cohesive path forward. Can plan the and hold team members.

  • Articulate requirements across all of the company. Can align projects against the back drop of long-term product and Company strategies

Decision-making and Autonomy

  • Make decisions regarding the appropriate risk when there is substantial project impact.

  • Approve team deliverables for project completion

Interaction

  • Interface with management coordinate project priorities, communications, and issue escalation to all levels of management for the respective Product Team programs

  • Interacts through program reviews with all levels of management.

  • Use to identify, plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload.

  • Collaborate with leaders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across organization.

Innovation

  • Support establishment of critical business processes to excellence in project execution.

  • Use Takeda's Project Management Methodology throughout projects.

  • Participate in the evaluation and feasibility process for potential projects.

  • Recognize opportunity for improved department objectives and approaches

  • Manage interdependencies within the respective product project portfolio

  • Maximize business results through continuous improvement in organization's projects

Complexity

  • Provide program management leadership for different commercial products

  • Provide PM leadership to a diverse, geographically distributed group of functional team members and subject matter experts with different cultural backgrounds.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in a life science field. Advanced degree.

  • Fluent in Japanese and English essential additional language skills such as German, Russian, French.

  • 10+ years industry work experience with experience in pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, operations, finance and program management required.

  • Include the ability to interact with all levels of management including Leadership Team. Complex problems and proposed solutions.

  • Must be proficient in the application of program management tools.

  • Can understand how the project fits into the GMS and company strategy.
